Baby First Social Outing

Hi Baby,

Your first social outing was when you were 7 weeks old. Mommy and Daddy got invited to a wedding and Mommy already promised the bride that we'll be going. It had only been a week since we moved back home and there was no thought of leaving you behind.

Fortunately Aunt Jenn from Australia sent you a white cotton dress, which was your only dress at that point, and I thought it'll be suitable for baby to wear to a wedding dinner. We teamed it up with your Lunatots blue pocket diaper and plain white socks with the blue handmade booties Auntie Wina made for you. And your look is complete! It didn't take long to dress you and we left the house slightly earlier than planned as the weather looked like it was about to pour and we wanted to make sure we got parking in the car park basement.

Baby nursed on the drive to the venue, and by the time the car was parked you were asleep. Daddy carried you as we made our way up to the wedding hall. During the time while guests were still arriving daddy took you around the hall as he recognised some of the guests. When he came back, he told me how everybody was asking how many months were you and were surprised to learn you were only 7 weeks old.

We shared a table with Auntie Choo and she took lots of pictures of you. Oh, Auntie Choo can really sing, what a voice she had!

Baby slept most of the time throughout the whole dinner amongst all the noise and happenings. You woke up wanting to nurse and daddy handed you to me. Mommy borrowed a nursing apron from Auntie Jacq and used that to nurse you at the table. And when you fell asleep mommy just held on to you giving daddy's arms a rest.

Baby was pretty peaceful throughout the dinner, you nursed twice and you slept the rest of the time. Mommy gotten used to eating with just one hand and a fork, while holding you in the other. Mommy just have to learn how to be ambidextrous... will check the spelling later... You still slept when the wedding was over and home we went.

So your first social outing went pretty smoothly, that we were in an air conditioned place and it was at night and it just so happen you decided to sleep all the way and mommy and daddy had a pretty easy time with you.
